Safety instructions for lifting in PVBK.
1. GeneralWhen handling boats, piers, mooring buoys etc. where a truck/tractor is used, it is very important to consider the risk of damage and, in particular, personal injury.
2. Boat lift:
Owner's responsibilities:
- Straps should be fitted to the boat in a way that does not damage propellers, instrument sensors, pulpits, aerials, etc.
- Mooring ropes, fenders in place and the boat is Correctly turned in relation to the cradle/trolley when lifting.
- That the cradle/trolley is in good condition, is securely propped up, and that the area is tidy.
- The cradle/pram should be clearly marked with a QR code and preferably the owner's name and phone number.
- The boat is insured during the lift.
- When launching, ensure the boat does not drift and damage the superstructure, antennas, etc.
Truck/tractor driver's responsibility:
- The driver, who must be certified, is responsible for the lifting and transport of the boat.
- The operator must require that the slings are removed from the forks after the lift before the machine is reversed. The purpose is to prevent damage due to the slings catching on the keel, propeller, or rudder.
3. Specific lifting risks:
- No fingers are to be placed between the boat's side and strops when the lift begins. High risk of crushing injuries!
- It is strictly forbidden to remain under hanging loads.
Be aware of the risk of being hit in the vicinity of the forklift. The forklift driver has limited visibility, especially in reverse. - When using a ”long arm”, there is a high risk of injury because the outer attachment point can move at high speed. Strapping/hooking may only be performed when the arm and tractor are stationary.
4. Other:
- Payment must be made before the lift.
- Do not park cars in the loading bay!
