Night guarding, the annual hours of duty

Everyone who has a boat berth or stores their boat over the summer in the harbour area is obliged to staff a watch shift with two people per season.

The shift times for a duty are 20:00 – 04:00.

Between 1 March and 30 June, you can choose your own shift:

  1. Please ensure that the email address you have registered with the club is correct. If you are unsure, you can email info@pvbk.net och få ditt personliga username And Password, which you then use to log into the BAS system.
  2. Then open the Swedish Boat Union's website https://batunionen.se and click on the box GO TO BASE Top right of the page.
  3. Log in by entering your username and password and clicking on Duty rota. You will then be added to the rota and can look for an available shift.
  • After 30 June, the board will allocate remaining shifts.
  • You are obliged to know which shift you are responsible for.
  • You choose which 2 people are to guard.
  • If you do not fulfil your duty of watch, you must pay a fee determined by the board. (See further ”Rules for Watch” on the website)

Work on the shifts

To be visible is to be on guard. The person on guard also acts as a harbour master. Cleaning the cabin, mowing the grass, helping visiting boaters, etc. In the clubhouse, there are instructions for what needs to be done during the guard shift.

  1. The national flags are lowered at 9 PM. The club flags are flown around the clock.
  2. You will carry out 5-6 security rounds distributed throughout the shift.
  3. The video surveillance of the area is only a supplementary aid.
  4. Note and sign the logbook after the end of your shift.

All forms of camping, i.e. tenting, parking caravans or motorhomes, are forbidden.
